Some people can watch TV all night. Some people can dance all night. Some people can party all night.
Me? I can eat all night.
I’m beginning to wonder, when did eating become entertainment, fun, a hobby, my calling? It seems more and more ludicrous, and less and less appealing.
I don’t know how exactly I can stop doing it, because it’s been so long. But it’s starting to really bother me, and I know that’s got to be a good thing.

But there is an emotional reason why most of us (if not all) behave this way and that is what needs to be addressed, this was certainly true in my case. After some professional help I am finally starting to recover, controlling this problem rather than it controlling me. So ı would advise if your habit is really hard to break, speak to your GP. Don't beat yourself up anymore, don't be ashamed like I was that you can't beat it alone, sometimes we all need help.
I have managed to avoid snacking in the evening by saving a snack for after dinner and keeping busy. I like the brushing teeth suggestion, thank you tinaturnbull. Another trick I have found is fruit tea - no cals but sweet and many of them are actually healthy too!
I really hope I can keep it up. I'm fed up of feeling fat and guilty! Good luck all!
