One of the main reasons that the Slim Fast lifestyle has been such a popular phenomenon among working women is because it is quick to consume but filling, simple and sorted, whilst guaranteeing you your RDAs of most essential vitamins. And let’s face it, we are living in a world now the slowly is losing all its time for food preparation. So why don’t we prepare our food anymore?
For starters, we have become a generation of instant gratification. Communication is isn’t produce is instant, now we want our food intake instantly, we want what we desire instantly. But good things come to those who wait. Impatience has taken over our whole lives. This is an extention of need for instant gratification but have you ever notice how boiled eggs are quite unpopular? because no one has the time to sit and delicately watch the egg. There is also just no time; time to cook meals from scratch anymore, unless you have someone at home cooking for you. The mess is also not an incentive- if you don’t have a dishwasher. Washing up only becomes desirable for me when I have a CV to right, but no other time.
I am a working woman on a Slim Fast diet. For my 600 calorie supper, I don’t want to turn to ready-made meals full of hidden transfats and preserves. This is the only real food I am going to have in the day and the effort needs to be made. And for my 300 calories of snacks. So here is how I tackle eating on the move.
- Night-time Tupperware. It is actually quite theraputic preparing meals when you are not under pressure for time or to impress. So preparing your own tupperwear snacks is the perfect way to wind down from work. On our Slimfast Diet we only eat snacks around lunch time with a shake so things you could prepare are: chopping up a boiled egg, preparing some carrots and humous, making a mini salad with a bit of tinned fish on top or fried off chicken, making a low fat yoghurt mix.
- Invest in a delightful smelling washing up liquid- it really pushes the incentive to want to wash up if you have a beautiful exotic washing smell that you want to regularly feel in your kitchen. There are some that claim to moisturize your hands at the same time so that is multi-tasking
- Double-up dinner into a salad. Sometimes it might be good to alternate your slim fast allowance. So, on Slimfast we are allowed 3 snacks, 2 shakes and 1 600 calorie meal- which we always assume is supper. But what about a small light lunch of 300 calories and then a light dinner as well to even it out? Then you simply make the dinner that you want be it spaghetti bolognaise even and put it on the salad, cold for your lunch. You’ll be surprised what mixes nicely with salad- those leaves seem to absorb so many tastes!
